Spicy Cocktail Sauce

Every so often it’s good to have a nice old-school shrimp cocktail.  My dad makes a fantastic spicy cocktail sauce to go with the shrimp and I’ve done my best to reproduce it here because I don’t have it written down anywhere.  It is really easy to make because you’re basically combining several bottled ingredients to create the perfect mixture to go with the shrimp.

1 tablespoon extra spicy horseradish

1/4 cup chili sauce (such as Heinz)

1/4 cup ketchup

dash of Worchestershire sauce

fresh lemon juice to taste

This is one of those recipes where you can just tweak the proportions to make it taste like what you want… ideally the sauce should taste so good that you come to view the shrimp as just a carrier!  I like the cocktail sauce very spicy with lots of tangy lemon.
